What's Open, Closed on Columbus Day
All schools and government offices are closed; most retail stores and restaurants are open.
Today is Columbus Day, Oct. 8, 2012.
The day is still celebrated as a public holiday in Barrington. But not everybody is shutting down. For some businesses, in fact, it will be business as usual.
What is open and closed today?
Barrington Town Hall is closed. So are the Barrington schools and most day care centers in town.
The Barrington library is closed as well. The Senior Center and TAP-IN shut their doors for the day, too.
Federal and state government offices are closed. There will be no mail delivery.
TD Bank and Webster Bank are open. Four Barrington banks are closed: Citizens, Sovereign, BankNewport and Bank of America.
Retail stores and most restaurants are open.
RIPTA will be operating on a holiday schedule.
The Bayside Family YMCA is open.
