Today is the Fourth of July.
The day is celebrated as a public holiday in Barrington. But not everybody is shutting down. For some businesses, in fact, it will be business as usual.
So, you’re in luck if your’re celebrating with a cookout? Or heading on down to Bristol for the parade? And you need some last-minute supplies.
What is open and closed today?
Barrington Town Hall is closed. The Barrington schools are closed for the summer, of course, and most day care centers in town are shut down today.
The Barrington library is closed. So is the Senior Center and TAP-IN, which operate in the same building.
Federal and state government offices are closed. There will be no mail delivery.
Five of the six Barrington banks are closed: TD Bank is the only branch open, from 8 am to 1 pm.
Some retail stores and some restaurants are open.
RIPTA will be operating on a holiday schedule.
