Was that a debate? The moment the candidates started into a substantive discussion, the moderator, et. al. moved to another subject.
Everything that was discussed was already well known.

Biden lost Clintonesquely.
Biden had to go in there and be an intentional, huge, silly distraction.
So no one would notice that big fat lie about Libya.
Biden would swear that “we” did not have a security request from that US Embassy.
And then the White House Press Secretary would quickly define “we”.
Done & done.
Speaking of funny definitions, asking for “12 guards plus military trainers” to defend the US Embassy in Libya is being defined by the administration as tantamount to asking for the “the sun, the moon and the stars”:
“In a House hearing on Wednesday, a State Department employee, Eric Nordstrom, said he told his superiors twice that the embassy mission needed more armed security… In a July cable, he said he wanted 12 guards plus military trainers…Beyond putting his assessment on paper, Nordstrom made that request verbally to a State Department officer in the Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs. ‘His response to that was, 'You're asking for the sun, moon, and the stars,' Nordstrom said.’”
