Vets Day Ceremony; Uncover 'Red Trail'

Flower Power needs volunteers to test 'holiday balls' on Tuesday and Wednesday at DPW garage.

 

Today is the federal observance of Veterans Day with all government offices and schools closed; most businesses will be open.

Help the Barrington Land Conservation Trust uncover the “red trail” at Veterans Memorial Park in Barrington starting at 9 am. Bring a saw and clippers and dress appropriately for the season.

The United Veterans Council in Barrington holds its annual ceremony to fete veterans starting at 11 am at the Honor Roll in front of Town Hall and continuing with the placing of a plaque recognizing Vietnam veterans at the memorial next to Town Hall.

The Barrington Public Library is closed for the observance of Veterans Day; it reopens Tuesday with normal hours.

Help Flower Power of Barrington test the “holiday balls” that will be hung on County Road again this year. Volunteers are needed on Tuesday and Wednesday from 9 to 11 am, 11 am to 1 pm and 1 to 3pm.  Meet at the back garage at the DPW facility on Upland Way.
