Venture Out to Battleship Cove [VIDEO}

Revisit your younger days when you hopped in the car, started the engine and drove off in search of something fun. Take a 30-minute drive to Battleship Cove.

In less than 30 minutes, you can be standing before a decommissioned U.S. battleship in Battleship Cove in Fall River – a floating museum full of rich military history. It's a great day trip for any age group.

At Battleship Cove, visitors can see how war veterans lived and worked on the ships and can imagine themselves serving on the vessels back in WWII. The cove offers exhibits including PT boats, helicopters, a submarine, a destroyer, the world's only exhibited example of a Soviet-built missile corvette, the USS Fall River, and the centerpiece, the USS Massachusetts

Battleship Cove offers a plethora of activities including overnight stays, a carousel for kids and families, and guided tours. In August 2011, Battleship Cove will commemorate the 70th Anniversary of Pearl Harbor by introducing a new showpiece that will take visitors back to 1941. The attraction features a set fully transformed to portray life in 1941 and will provide sights, sounds and interviews from veterans who will share their experiences in the military during and after Pearl Harbor.

Battleship Cove is open seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Visitors can receive a $1 off admission coupon by clicking here. For directions, visit the Battleship Cove website.
