A North Providence man, 55, was in District Court Monday morning, March 18, facing a drunk-driving charge in Barrington after apparently enjoying St. Patrick’s Day a bit too much.
John L. O’Halloran, of 8 Marigold Circle, was pulled over by a Barrington patrol officer around 9:04 pm at County Road and Joyce Street. His vehicle was observed swerving over a double-yellow line; it also had one headlight out.
O’Halloran spent the night in a jail cell in Barrington after failing a field sobriety test. He also consented to a blood test at Rhode Island Hospital and a Breathalyzer test, according to the police report.
O’Halloran told police that he was coming from the Tinker’s Nest Irish Pub in Warren and on his way home.
