Take a winter nighttime owl prowl in Barrington tonight, Dec. 28.

You’ll be listening for the screeches and looking for great horned owls. You’ll even get to practice owl calls.

The walk is sponsored by the Barrington Land Conservation Trust. It starts just after dark at 4:30 pm in Veterans Memorial Park.

The looping trail to be used is described as appropriate for anyone who is not afraid of the dark. 

But bring a flashlight and a non-perishable canned food item as a donation to TAP-IN. With the cold weather, TAP-IN is especially in need of protein items such as peanut butter or canned tuna. 

Park in the Bayside YMCA lot on West Street. Meet at the park gate. The rain date is next Friday, Jan. 4.
