Alleged Seller of Stolen Cell Phone Charged

Barrington police charge Adams Avenue man, 18, with receiving stolen goods and obtaining money under false pretenses.

 

A Barrington man, 18, faces charges filed by police on Wednesday, Feb. 1, of receiving stolen goods and obtaining money under false pretenses.

Barrington police said Vincent St. Angelo, of 57 Adams Ave., allegedly sold a stolen cell phone to a Warwick woman. She purchased it after responding to a listing he placed on craigslist.com, police said.

The woman paid St. Angelo $280 for the phone as a gift for her boyfriend in Michigan, she told police. He discovered that he could not activate the phone because it had been reported stolen or lost.

The woman reportedly attempted to get her money back from St. Angelo without success, police said.

A trace by police found that the cell phone was the property of a female student, 18, at the University of Rhode Island who reported it stolen.

Woman faces domestic assault charge

A Barrington woman, 43, was charged by Barrington police on Wednesday, Feb. 1, with domestic simple assault on her husband.

Police said Marcianne Andreozzi, of 12 Jesse Davis Lane, struck her husband with an open hand during a heated argument. He contacted police about the incident.

Warren man charged with DUI

A Warren man, 24, faces pled out in District Court on Friday, Feb. 3, to drunk driving and possession of marijuana charges filed by Barrington police earlier in the day.

David J. Caulder, of 56 Wood St., was stopped for speeding on County Road about 1:38 am, police said. He was traveling 51 mph in a 25-mph zone.

Caulder failed a field sobriety test and his blood alcohol level registered .165, double the legal limit, after taking a Breathalyzer test. The marijuana was found in his pocket, police said.
