Snowplow, Rings Worth $1,000s Swiped
Barrington police are investigating the two thefts, worth more than $7,500.
A 9-foot snowplow and thousands of dollars worth of jewelry have gone missing in Barrington.
Barrington detectives are investigating both reported thefts. Total value of the items exceeds $7,500, according to Barrington Police Chief John LaCross.
The snowplow is a "Fisher" and described as bright yellow. It disappeared from a maintenance area for Rhode Island Country Club off of Middle Highway. The plow was reported missing on Dec. 24.
A gate to the maintenance area reportedly was left open the entire weekend before the theft, LaCross said.
The jewelry was reported missing from a home on Karen Drive on Dec. 22. Worth about $4,000, the jewelry includes rings mainly, said LaCross.
The home has a cleaning service, according to the police report. The owners think their "cleaning lady" might be a suspect.
