He Couldn't Keep It Under His Hat
A young East Providence man is charged with marijuana possession after he is stopped while driving in Barrington early in the morning.
Smoking marijuana while driving in Barrington early in the morning has a young East Providence man, 18, facing a possession charge.
Connor J. Pirruccelli-McClellan, of 1350 Pawtucket Ave., was driving on County Road at about 2:30 am last Thursday, Jan. 17. He drove past a routine traffic patrol with a rear taillight out, according to Barrington police.
The patrol officer smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle when the window was rolled down, according to the police report. As Pirruccelli-McClellan got out of his car, a small baggie of marijuana fell out from under a baseball cap he was wearing, police said.
The young man then admitted to smoking marijuana in the vehicle, the police report said. He was taken to the police station station and held in a jail cell until he was arraigned by a justice of the peace.
The young man now faces a day in District Court. A passenger in the vehicle was not charged because he was not driving.
