Represent Barrington on Water Board

The Town Council is seeking applicants for one of three positions on the Bristol County Water Authority board.

Represent Barrington on the Bristol County Water Authority board of directors. A position is available.

The water authority board post is a three-year term that ends in February, 2015. Lloyd Matsumoto holds the board post now, but he has asked not to be reppointed as one of Barrington's three members on the nine-member board when his term expires at the end of this month.

The other Barrington representatives are Allan Klepper and Kevin Fitta.

Although a volunteer position, the board post actually pays a $28 stipend for each board meeting attended but capped at $800 for the term. Other than the Town Council, the post is the only one in Barrington that involves some compensation.

Two other Barrington boards and commissions also need volunteers to fill vacancies:

  • Housing Board of Trustees (1 vacancy and 2 alternate posts)
  • Website Committee (2 vacancies)

Résumé forms can be obtained through the Barrington website at www.barrington.ri.gov or at the Town Clerk's Office in Town Hall or at the library.

The deadline to submit your résumé to the Town Clerk’s Office is Wednesday, Feb. 28. Interviews before the Town Council will be held before the March meeting.
