Do lovers lanes exist anymore in Barrington? Have they gone the way of miniskirts and disco music and unsafe sex? Are they now drinking hangouts instead?
There were at least several lovers lanes in Barrington in years gone by, according to somel long-time Barrington residents.
- South Lake Drive
- Legion Way
- Barrington Beach
- The East Bay Bike Path
- Veterans Memorial Park
These spots bring back a lot of memories. Probably because they frequented these make-out destinations.

All of the spots you mentioned were, also knockum hill but that may have been on the border of Swansea. Many times on South Lake Drive you would be in the car and all of a sudden there was the police man shining that bright light in the car. But it was ok, because back then we all knew the police and they knew us. This is back in the early 70's. Barrington was quite a different town back then.
