Readers Pick FuelBelt for Sports Gear

FuelBelt Inc. of Barrington and Warren, which makes hydration belts for runners, cyclers and triathletes, is this week's Readers' Choice winner.

FuelBelt Inc., which makes hydration belts and accessories for runners, cyclers and triathletes, is the favorite place to buy sporting goods for Barrington voters in this week’s Readers’ Choice poll.

The company received 43 percent of the votes that were cast by 9 am this morning, when the poll ended. The poll started last Monday morning, April 9.

The company was founded in 1997 by Vinu Malik of Barrington. See Patch story on Malik.

Coming in second in the poll is an East Bay sporting goods institution, the Gob Shop on Main Street in Warren, which got 25 percent of the votes.

Other sporting goods retailers in the poll were Dick's Sporting Goods and Sports Authority in Seekonk, Olympia Sports in the Swansea Mall, in Seekonk and the Salvation Army thrift store, which accepts donations of used sporting goods.
