The North Providence woman apparently was not aware that a Barrington cruiser with lights blinking and siren blaring was asking her to stop.

The woman was not charged with a violation, but she will be reported to the RI Department of Motor Vehicles for a competency test, police said. She was traveling south on Wampanoag Trail on the way to her son’s house on Upland Way, police said.

The woman reportedly did not stop for a police officer on a radar post near the East Providence line despite him activating the cruiser’s lights and siren. Eventually, the woman did pull over near the intersection of County and Federal roads. She was given a warning, police said.
