Barrington Senior Center director Louise House wants to ask you a favor if you drive near the facility and have no business there.

Please don't park in the Senior Center lot on the south side of the Barrington library building between 8:30 am and 4 pm.

"It's really causing a problem if you disobey the sign posted there," said House. "People from TAP-IN and people going to the library are parking there illegally. Please stop."

The Senior Center itself is getting busier and busier, she said. There is barely enough parking for its users. Many seniors are being forced to use Markwood Drive south of the parking lot.

"I've actually asked the police to patrol the lot a couple of days a week," House said.

The Senior Center director said she doesn't want anyone to get a ticket or have their car towed. But the lot is designated for the Senior Center only for about 7.5 hours during the day.

"It's been a problem," she said. "But for some reason, it has been getting worse."
