PHOTOS: Sunfish Regatta Underway
First day of Youth North American Open Championship of the 2011 Sunfish Regatta greeted with friendly winds in Narragansett Bay off of Barrington Beach.
Friendly winds made for a great first day of international Sunfish racing at Barrington Beach late Wednesday morning and afternoon. Youth was served as the Youth North American Open Championship of the 2011 Sunfish Regatta got underway.
The youth championship continues today, July 21, with the second day of racing to determine the winners. At the end of the day, the Barrington Yacht Club will host a dinner and awards ceremony under a tent at the club on Barton Avenue. Dyer Jones, executive director of the Herreshoff Museum in Bristol, is the guest speaker.
