Merchants Put Stores on Map

The Barrington Business Association prints a full-color, fold-up map that shows the locations of more than two dozen local stores and shops.

Barrington merchants have put themselves on a map.

The free pocket-size, full-color map was put together by the Barrington Business Association (BBA). It shows the exact locations of 26 stores and shops and includes ads by 10 merchants.

It arrived this week, said Lois Coppolino, owner of Daisy Dig'ins and a co-director of the BBA.

“Because we don’t have a Main Street, we need the map,” she said. “It should be very worthwhile."

The map also provides a profile of the town, places to visit, and a list of 2012 events in town, such as the upcoming Memorial Day parade, the CVS Caremark Charity Classic in June, the summer concert schedule, Barrington Beach Day in August, the business association’s Fall Festival, and the annual Festival of Lights at Town Hall.

The map will be distributed to stores and shops and handed out in Town Hall and other higher-traffic areas in Barrington, and at events such as the CVS golf tournament at the Rhode Island Country Club.

Providence Media, owners of The Bay magazine printed the map for the business association.
