Man's Safe Reportedly Broken Into Soon After His Death
The strong box that reportedly held the will of the deceased man appears to have been broken into.
Barrington police are investigating a complaint that a larceny may have been committed from the home of a deceased New Hampshire Avenue man soon after his death.
A strong box believed to hold the will of the Barrington man appears to have been broken into, police said. A hole was found bored into a lock on the safe to open it. The man’s widow said the lock was not broken before her husband’s death, police said.
A friend of the deceased man’s stepson reportedly showed up at the house on Saturday morning, Feb. 4, police said. A suspicious condition complaint was filed with the police at 12:45 pm on Saturday.
Woman complains of threats
An Albert Avenue woman, 29, reported to Barrington police on Saturday evening, Feb. 4, that she has been receiving threats from her former boyfriend.
Her former boyfriend is a Barrington man, 30, police said. She was advised to seek a restraining order against him, police said.
Shaw's reports graffiti vandalism
Barrington police responded on Saturday morning, Feb. 4, to a complaint of graffiti painted on the rear wall of Shaw’s Supermarket.
In red and blue spray paint, the words “gondo,” “gonz” and “revt” were found to be painted on the wall, police said. The complaint was called in at 11:43 am.
