His Web Series in Prestigious Festival

'Red Circles', a murder mystery, is the product of Seth Chitwood of Barrington and his Angelwood Productions.

 A murder-mystery web series created and directed by a young Barrington theater major is a finalist at a prestigious festival in Los Angeles this weekend.

“Red Circles,” produced by Seth Chitwood, a 2009 Barrington High School graduate, is being screened at the 2012 Los Angeles Web Series that runs from April 6-9. Chitwood is a triple major in film studies, musical theater and communications at Rhode Island College.

Chitwood also is the co-founder of Angelwood Pictures, which has been creating films since 2008. He has created, directed, and produced several films under his production company.

Red Circles includes a cast of mostly adult actors of all ages from Rhode Island, Massachusetts and New York, including three Barrington residents: Matthew Lacombe, Eva Davenport and Kathy Sullivan. His first web series, "The Dreamer," featured a cast of 35 students.

The Los Angeles Web Series Festival, located at the LAX/Radisson Hotel, will feature 176 web series from all over the world. Red Circles is one of only two nominated web series in New England. For more information on the festival, click here.

"Red Circles" is is a supernatural crime drama about detectives trying to solve a series of eerily similar murders. When Det. Sophie Arlington arrives at a Newport crime scene and discovers a woman drenched in blood and her brother dead in the backyard, the detective is stunned by the fact that two decades earlier her father investigated an identical killing in the same house. She eventually comes to the realization it may have been the unsolved case her that led to her father’s suicide.

Besides Lacombe, the series stars Corey Arruda of Warwick, Sophie Kreyssig of Richmond, Julian Trilling of Providence, and Paul Kandarian of Taunton, Mass. The series completed its second season on March 5. It is scheduled to premiere its third season on Sept. 30. You can check out more information at www.redcircles.ws.

Chitwood began creating student films in 2008. He is also working on a web series scheduled to premier this month titled "World’s Worst Director." A sneak preview of this series, a comedy, is posted on YouTube.
