Listen to the Sounds as Your Kids Run or Walk This Weekend

It could be early-spring chilly, but that's no reason to stay indoors with plenty of outdoor things to do.

 

Listen to “The Sound of Music” – or do a fun run or a walk in the woods with your kids this first full weekend of spring.

Fun Run and 1-Mile Race for Kids
When/Where: Nayatt School, Saturday – registration begins at 7:15 am; kids’ races begin at 9 and 9:30 am
Why go: It’s a fun fundraiser for the Nayatt PTO. Prizes, games, food, fun for everyone.
Pricing: $15 for online registration by March 24; $20 day of race.

Walk in Veterans Park 
When/Where: Saturday at 7:30 pm from the boat launch area of Veterans Park
Why go: Members of the Land Trust will lead an evening walk to find “vernal pools” in the woods. Bring a flashlight and waterproof shoes.
Pricing: Free 

“The Sound of Music” When/Where: Fatima High School, 360 Market St., Warren, Saturday at 7 pm and Sunday matinee at 2 pm
Why go: Enjoy this high school performance of the classic musical, including great songs like “My Favorite Things” and “Climb Every Mountain.”
Pricing: $10 adults; $5 students

Friday Night Hoops When/Where: Friday, 9:30 to 11:30 pm at the Bayside Family YMCA
Why go: Got teenagers? Teens in grades 8 through 12 are invited to play in this weekly adult-supervised basketball program.
Pricing: $3 nonmembers; free for Y members
