Hurricane On the Way, So Get Prepared

Then drop off your kids at the YMCA for another 'night out'; mark your calendar for car wash to benefit TAP-IN on Saturday.

Take some time to get prepared for Hurricane Irene's arrival on Sunday, Aug. 28, by clicking here for detailed information from Barrington Patch, FEMA, the National Hurricane Center and the RI health department.

Tonight is another Kids Night Out at the Bayside Family YMCA on West Street, which can give you a night out after you drop off your kids, ages 4 to 12, at 6 pm. Register by 4 pm.

Mark your Saturday calendar. St. Luke’s Youth Ministries is washing cars from 10 to 1 at Center ACE Hardware with all proceeds going to the TAP-IN nonprofit organization.

If it’s Friday, of course, you can take ballroom and Latin dance lessons at the Democratic Club on Roffee Street at 7 pm with professional dancer Nelia Lawton of Barrington, and then strut your newfound steps until 11 pm.

Open Mic Night’ at the Coffee Depot, 501 Main St., Warren, gives you a chance to sing if that is your love, starting at 7 pm.
