House Broken Into Overnight

Barrington police are investigating a break-in of a Joyce Street house while the owners were asleep.

Barrington police are investigating a break-in at a house on Joyce Street that appears to have occurred while the owners of the home were asleep.

Reported missing are a laptop computer, a leather purse and $100 in cash.

The break-in was reported early Tuesday morning, March 5, according to police. The items reported missing were in the house when the homeowners went to bed for the night around 9:45 on Monday.

The house was entered with the use of a lawn-edging tool found in the garage. An unlocked window was pried open with the tool after a screen was cut, police said.

A vehicle parking in the garage was not touched, police said. The break-in was one of three last week in Barrington believed to be related to sightings of two men in a white Volvo with New York license plates.

That's really hard core breaking into a occupied home. It's probably best that the residents slept through it. I wish the PD good luck in apprehending these embolden criminals.
