Boy, 17, Allegedly Chokes Girl, 17
Barrington police are investigating an alleged assault on a girl, 17, at the high school.
A 17-year-old girl at Barrington High School reportedly was choked last week by a 17-year-old boy who faces simple assault or battery and disorderly conduct charges.
An investigation into the alleged assault continues, said Barrington Police Chief John LaCross.
But the girl reported to the police that the boy used both hands to choke her during an argument that allegedly got a bit out of hand in the high school, said LaCross.
The alleged assault was reported to police last Thursday, Dec. 13, at about 2:19 pm or soon after the high school dismisses each weekday.
A police officer responded to the high school about 35 minutes later, according to the police report. Charges were filed that same day as the investigation got underway.

I wonder why it took 35 minutes for the police to respond.
