Fitness Together Adds Trainer
Carl Martone holds a BS degree in kinesiology from URI with a concentration in health fitness.
Carl Martone has joined the Fitness Together staff in Barrington as its newest personal trainer.
A two-sport athlete at Providence’s Hope High School, Martone graduated from the University of Rhode Island with a Bachelor of Science degree in kinesiology, with a concentration in health fitness in 2012.
He joined the Fitness Together staff in September as an intern, and became a full-time trainer in November, said Matthew Gagliano, owner of Fitness Together.
Martone is the son of Adelmo and Maria Martone, hardworking Italian immigrants who settled in Rhode Island, said Gagliano. His father is a painter and his mother is a housekeeper.
Martone became a standout athlete at Hope High School. He was a tight end in football and earned all-division honors in his senior year, and was on the school’s basketball team that reached the state finals.
The first person in his family to attend college, he played intramurals, and described himself as a gym rat who is now committed to helping others achieve their goals at a smaller, more personal gym, said Gagliano.
