Films at Library; Farmers Market; Active Older Adult Day at YMCA
The Barrington Public Library hosts two movies; the Farmers Market at Haines Memorial State Park opens for the seasion; the YMCA celebrates older adults' active lifestyle.
The May matinee film series on Cary Grant continues today at 2 pm in the Barrington library auditorium. Grant stars in “Notorious” with Ingrid Bergman, a story about a U.S. intelligence agent asking a woman with a checkered past to spy on some of her late father’s Nazi colleagues in Rio de Janeiro.
The Bayside YMCA celebrates Active Older Adult Day with a health fair starting at 9 am and a luncheon and speaker from 12:30 to 1:30 pm. All activities are free. You don’t have to be a member.
“Mr. Holland’s Opus” continues the series, Teachers in Film, tonight at 7 in the Barrington Public Library auditorium. Richard Dreyfus stars in this much acclaimed film about a music teacher who always dreamed of being a composer but finds the true meaning of success as a teacher.
Today is the first day of the season for the Farmers Market at Haines Memorial State Park on the Barrington/Riverside line. It runs from 2 to 6 pm.
