Education Chief Speaks at BEF Forum

RI Commissioner of Education Deborah Gist is the keynote speaker at a Barrington Education Foundation forum: 'Where Do We Go From Here? Raising the Bar for Public Education'.

 

The Barrington Education Foundation forum, “Where Do We Go From Here? Raising the Bar for Public Education,” starts at 7 pm in the high school auditorium with keynote speaker Deborah Gist, the education commissioner for Rhode Island, and a guest speaker, Matt Williams, an educational researcher with KnowledgeWorks in Cincinnati.

Winning at Work & Home,” a video study course for men, starts at 6 am at the Bayside Family YMCA.

Al Anon, a weekly meeting of adults who were raised in alcoholic homes, meets at 7 pm at St. James Lutheran Church, 49 Middle Highway.

A story time for children up to age 6 runs every Wednesday at 9:30 am in the Barrington library children’s room.

A separate story time for children age 2 and their caregivers runs at 10:30 am in the Barrington library children’s room; there is a limit of 12.
