'Demopalooza' Concert Coming to Club
Five Barrington bands to perform Thursday evening at the Democratic Club on Roffee Street starting at 7 pm.
“Demopalooza” invades the Barrington Democratic Club on Roffee Street Thursday night, Aug. 23.
The event is a night of music for “music lovers of all ages,” said Neal Rosenthal of Barrington, who is putting together the five-band concert. It will run from 7 to 11 pm.
Rosenthal’s band, “The Four Man Quintet,” will perform its brand of Funk, Rock and Reggae at the concert as well, he said.
The band will be joined by four other groups: Brainfruit (Funk/Rock); The Company (Funk/Rock); The Sarcasm Association (Rock) and The Burning Lights (Rock). All of the groups are from Barrington, Rosenthal said.
“We wanted to get together before we go back to college,” said Rosenthal, a student at Berklee College of Music in Boston. “There is not a lot of music going on in Barrington.”
All of the groups, he said, usually play house parties or clubs in the Providence and Boston areas. Each band will play for 30-60 minutes on Thursday night, Rosenthal said.
The concert is the second one at the Democratic Club since April. The April concert raised money for the Relay for Life at Barrington High School in June.
There is a $5 admission fee.
