Cuban Cigars Found in Mailbox
Barrington police respond on Sunday morning to a report of 'contraband' found in a mailbox.
Suspicious conditions are reported often to the Barrington police. But Cuban cigars in a mailbox?
The report to dispatch came from a Plymouth Drive man, 68, who found what he described as “contraband” in his mailbox on Sunday morning, Oct. 21.
The contraband was four Cuban cigars wrapped in a plastic bag, said Barrington Police Chief John LaCross.
The man has no idea where they came from, the police chief said. A call to a friend who was believed to possibly be the contributor came up empty as well.
It is not known if the Barrington man smokes cigars. If he does, he may have received a rare treat.

No joke. Can you think of any plausible explanation for the appearance of the Cuban stogies in the mailbox?
