CVS Classic Debuts With Laughs

The annual 'players clinic' on the opening day of the CVS Caremark Charity Classic gets the two-day tourney off to a laughter-filled start.

The 14th CVS Caremark Charity Classic got off to a laughter-filled start Monday morning, June 18.

At the Rhode Island Country Club, the annual “players clinic” provided plenty of fun and trick-shot making. It set the stage under blue skies and in 70-degree temperatures for the 10:30 am start to the tourney.

Brad Faxon of Barrington and Billy Andrade of Bristol, the two-day tournament’s founders and co-hosts, introduced the 18 professional golfers and 8 amateurs who joined them on the course on day one.

Faxon and Andrade also played masters-of-ceremony for a few of the pros who entertained the hundreds of fans surrounding the 18th green with their shot-making ability and comedy sketches.

See the video above for a 3-minute taste of the opening ceremony.
