Chorus Concert, Rock 'n Roll Movie

Barrington Middle School chorus holds its spring concert; 'Almost Famous' concludes rock 'n roll film series in the library.

 

The chorus at Barrington Middle School holds its spring concert at 7 pm in the auditorium. Admission is free.

The Thursday evening rock ‘n roll film series at the Barrington Public Library concludes at 7 pm with Almost Famous, an R-rated film about a 15-year-old journalist who hits the road with the Stillwater band for an article for Rolling Stone magazine. He falls in love with the music, the lifestyle and a free-spirited beauty (Kate Hudson); directed by Cameron Crowe.

A community tennis program that runs every Thursday evening in May continues at 6 pm at the courts at Barrington High School. Tony Cunha, a local tennis professional, is teaching the course. Register at the Recreation Department office.

Get your blood pressure checked at 10:30 am or play Bingo at 1 pm at the Barrington Senior Center.

Barrington Books hosts a children's story hour each Thursday at 10:30 am for kids ages 2-5. Barrington children's book author Anika Denise leads the story hour in the Barrington Shopping Plaza store.
