An unlocked car with the keys in the cup holder was reported stolen to Barrington police last Wednesday, March 13. It remains missing. 

The theft was reported around 8 am from the driveway of a Promenade Street home. The owner told police she had an idea who stole the 2007 Subaru.

Several patrol officers searched for the vehicle in the neighborhood of the Barrington suspect without success. The theft remains under investigation, said Barrington Det. Lt. Dino DeCrescenzo.

“It’s probably in a parking lot somewhere,” he said, which means it can be recovered.

Maybe the keys are still in the car.
