Burrillville Blasts Barrington, 7-2

The Broncos tie up the best-of-three boys' ice hockey series with Barrington; game three for the Division I state title is Sunday afternoon.

 

Burrillville rolled over Barrington in the second game of their best-of-three boys’ ice hockey series Saturday afternoon, 7-2.

The win by the Broncos ties the series at a game apiece and sets up a winner-take-all game three Sunday afternoon at Brown University for the Division I state hockey crown. Tipoff is 2 pm at Meehan Auditorium.

Burrillville led after the first period, 1-0, and then scored two more goals in the second period to go up 3-0.

Barrington finally got on the board in the second period at the 5:43 mark with a goal by Nick Graham to get back in the game. Burrillville then scored four straight goals before the end of the second period to put the game well out of reach at 7-1 at the intermission.

Barrington got its second goal with 12:43 left in the third period to end the scoring. 

The Broncos peppered goalie Andrew Galbraith with shot after shot; he made 39 saves before being lifted for Aaron Shulman, who made 7 saves of his own.
