Barrington High's boys' basketball team came up short against North Kingstown on Sunday for the second time this year in the Rhode Island Interscholastic League open tournament, according to George Finn, athletics director.

The score was 62-41. The squad's season is over. It ends with an 18-8 record.

Kevin Mannix led the Eagles in scoring with 11 points, including three 3-point field goals. Jared Silk added 8 points. The team played again without second leading score Corey Daugherty, who was diagnosed with mononucleosis about a week ago.

The girls' ice hockey team continued its defense of the state title it won last year by winning their 3-game series over the weekend. The team moves on to the State Finals against Lincoln on Wednesday at a time still to be determined.

The girls' basketball team moves into the State Semifinals on Tuesday night at Rhode Island College at 6 pm against Exeter/West Greenwich.

The boys' ice hockey begins its quest for a state championship on Friday at Smithfield.
