Billy's Goes on Road With Food Truck

Bill Dessel spins off Billy's Restaurant in Barrington with a trendy food truck that will travel all over the East Bay.

Maybe you saw it parked outside of Barrington Books in the County Road shopping plaza last summer. Or at the Save the Bay "Beach Slam" at Tillinghast Farm a month ago. Or somewhere else in Barrington or the East Bay.

It’s Little Billy’s gourmet food truck. Color it black and white. And on the road in the East Bay.

“We are excited to roll out our own version of the food truck,” said Bill Dessel, owner of .  “The food truck movement is a hot trend, and Little Billy’s is looking forward to being at the forefront in Rhode Island by offering quick, inspired meals using exceptional ingredients at affordable prices.”

Dessel said the food truck’s menu will change frequently. But whatever is on the menu will be made with fresh, local ingredients whenever possible.

Among the staples on the menu, though, will be the award-winning Billy Burger, made from a secret blend of ground beef topped with American cheese, lettuce and tomato.

Do you like hot dogs and French fries? How about sweet potato fries? The food truck’s got those, too.

And there will be house-made chili, lobster rolls in season, clam strip rolls with seafood from Foley Fish, and caprese grilled cheese with fresh tomato, basil and mozzarella.

Dessel said he plans to operate the food truck run year-round all over the East Bay and into Providence -- weather permitting. He will cater private events as well.

Billy’s Restaurant opened in April 2009 as an American bistro and tavern in the former Trendy’s Pizza location. Now it has spun off the food truck.
