Barrington Schools to Reopen Tuesday
A professional development day for teachers on Wednesday also has been cancelled; Barrington students should report to school that day as well.
Barrington's public schools will reopen tomorrow, Tuesday, Feb. 12, after being closed for a couple of days by the Blizzard of '13.
"We urge all parents and students to use caution," said Superintendent Michael Messore. "But we will be open again."
Messore said also that a professional development day for teachers that was scheduled on Wednesday, Feb. 13, has been cancelled. Students should report to all the schools for a normal teaching day.

Changing a personal day at the last minute is inconsiderate and unfair to families who plan ahead and have doctors appointments, trips and other activities planned. THere is a trip to Mt. Snow with a bunch of kids from BPS going and they will not be refunded at the last minute. PLease let superintendet know that he needs to reconsider this decision. WHat difference could it possible make to reschedule it???More inconveinence for families???

I am so upset too - having to reschedule so many things. There is no rhyme or reason for this!

2/13 was not cancelled but rescheduled. So in addition to having appointments on Wednesday, what should I tell my employer about March 1st?!? To give parents only 36 hours notice and send the message after the Superintendent's office is closed is beyond inconsiderate!

Please send complaints to Mr. Messore - I know I did!

I sent a complaint too. Same issues as all of you. Had to cancel doctors appointment and day care arrangements -- will have to find new daycare arrangements for March 1st. Simple stupid and inconsiderate.
