Barrington Cop Faces Domestic Charge
Sgt. Joseph Andreozzi allegedly threatened his ex-wife; there was no physical contact, according to RI State Police.
A Barrington police officer pleaded not guilty in court Thursday, Aug. 30, after his arrest early this morning by the Rhode Island State Police for allegedly threatening his ex-wife, according to WPRI TV.
Sgt. Joseph Andreozzi, 45, pleaded not guilty to a charge of domestic disorderly conduct. Andreozzi and his ex-wife reportedly were arguing on the phone when he allegedly threatened her late Wednesday night, according to WPRI-TV.
She contacted Barrington police and left her home, where Andreozzi reportedly showed up a short time later. There was no physical altercation, said the state police, who were called in for reasons of impartiality.
Andreozzi was released after his arraignment and given a no-contact order.
