Barrington High School’s boys’ ice hockey team joined the girls in winning a championship on Sunday afternoon, March 17.
The boys beat Burrillville, 2-0, to claim the Division I state title, according to the Providence Journal.
Senior goalie and captain Andrew Galbraith was named the MVP of the tournament with his second shutout of the best-of-three Interscholastic League series.
Galbraith made 52 saves on Sunday afternoon, a day after he gave up seven goals in a game-two loss. He shut out Burrillville in game one as well, 1-0.
The boys’ squad capped a run of four wins out of five playoff games in claiming the Division I title after the team only won three games all season.
