BankNewport has donated another $3,000 to continue its sponsorship of the annual summer concert series in Barrington.

Michele Geremia, director of recreation and leisure services, made the announcement of the donation for the 2013 concert series at last week’s Parks and Recreation Commission meeting, according to Michael Seward, chairman of the recreation board.

The contribution will allow the recreation department to bring to Barrington each summer at least four shows. In past years, those concerts included show at Barrington Beach and Tillinghast Farm.

For the past two years, the concert series has included performances by the Rhode Island Wind Ensemble and Atwater-Donnelly on the Town Hall lawn, The Nightlife Orchestra at Tillinghast Farm and The Driftwoods, a Beach Boys tribute band, at the beach.
