Almost All Power Has Been Restored
The National Grid Outage Map still shows about two dozen Barrington customers without power this morning; Atria Bay Spring Village serving as shelter; schools closed.
Power has been restored to just about all of Barrington.
The National Grid Outage Map indicates that only about two dozen Barrington customers are still without electricity at 8 am this morning, Feb. 11. The outages are scattered all over Barrington.
National Grid said yesterday that power should be restored to everyone no later than the end of today.
Meanwhile, all of the schools in Barrington -- the public schools, St. Luke School, St. Andrew's School and the Barrington Christian Academy -- are closed again today. They are expected to be reopened Tuesday.
All government buildings, the public library and the senior center are open as well as the town continues to dig out from the Blizzard of '13, which dumped about 17 inches of snow in Barrington from Friday afternoon to Saturday afternoon.
The heavy snow and strong winds -- gusts of up to 60 mph -- knocked out power to the entire town.
Atria Bay Spring Village is serving as an emergency shelter if you need heat or are still without power. Primrose Hill School served as a shelter Saturday night.
