5 Things to Know About This Week

Candlelight vigil; Town Council meets; 'Christmas Story' airs'; water rate hike hearing; winter walk and cookie exchange.

 

Here are five things you should know about for this week in Barrington.

  1. Barrington Unites, an annual candlelight vigil to remember loved ones lost, takes place Monday evening, Dec. 17, at 7 pm at the Barrington Congregational Church, 461 County Road.
  2. The Barrington Town Council gathers Monday, Dec. 17, for its monthly meeting at 7 pm in the Council Chamber in Town Hall.
  3. See ‘A Christmas Story’ on Thursday, Dec. 20, on the big screen in the Barrington library auditorium. It starts at 7 pm.
  4. The Bristol County Water Authority board of directors holds a public hearing on Thursday, Dec. 20, at 6 pm in the Warren Town Hall to explain its proposal to raise water rates by 12 percent across the board.
  5. The Barrington Land Conservation Trusts holds a winter walk and cookie exchange on Saturday, Dec. 22, to celebrate the 6th anniversary of the preservation of Sowams Woods. It runs from 1 to 3 pm.
