Trot Off Your Turkey T-Shirt Winner & Pep Rally at St. Luke's School

The 13th Annual Trot Off Your Turkey 5k/1.5M Run/Walk starts trotting at 10:00 on Saturday morning from St. Luke's School on Washington Road.  One of the fun parts of the community Thanksgiving tradition is the unveiling of the annual t-shirt design.  Most years the t-shirt has been designed by one of the K-8 students at the local catholic school.

On Monday, the winning t-shirt was unveiled at the annual school pep-rally.  This year's winning designed was made by sixth grade student Emily DeCrescenzo with her fall-like tree and turkey design. She was one of 10 finalists.

Also part of this annual tradition was the Race Pep Rally which included a question and answer "election debate" skit performed by members of the School Student Council under direction of advisors Nancy Brex, School Librarian and Doreen Schiff, Grade 8 teacher.

To drum up spirit for the event, students were asked about race facts and trivia.  Students were asked if they were in attendance at the first running 13 years ago.  Most were not as the 13 year old eighth grade students were in diapers and the younger students were not born yet!!

The 13th Annual Trot Off Your Turkey takes place this Saturday November 24 at 10:00.  The School opens at 8:00 am Saturday morning for same day walk up registration.  Pre-registrations are still being accepted on line through Thanksgiving night.  Go to www.trotoffyourturkey.org for details.  Also, the school will be open on Friday afternoon between 12 noon and 3:00 for walk up registrations.
